I wanted to talk a little bit about customer service and how it applies in the Internet Age. This concept is often lost in the sea of Internet advertising, driving traffic, social bookmarking, etc. It is a rather Old School concept, but invaluable to any business effort.

Lets say you are getting tons of leads each day, but are having a problem converting them to actual customers or downline. Something as simple as a little personal e-mail to them can often make the difference in converting at a higher rate. Simply say hello, offer to answer some of their questions, let them in on a traffic generation secret of yours.

The key is to let them know there is an actual person who is interested in them behind the computer screen

Many new Internet Marketers utilize Traffic Exchanges when they begin their marketing efforts. Often times they might join a certain exchange, surf it for many a couple of days, and then become frustrated and stop using them altogether.

In order to efficiently use traffic exchanges, one must understand how they work. You view other peoples web sites for the privilege of them seeing yours. Now, admittedly the conversion on traffic exchanges is not high, but I will teach you a technique that will multiply the viewings of your sites by 5 times.

First, you need to sign-up for a minimum of 5 traffic exchanges. I’ll explain why in the next paragraph. For network marketing purposes I recommend the following exchanges:

Traffic Swarm

WebBizInsider

TS25

ILoveHits

Hit2Hit

These are a good mix of the largest exchanges (Traffic Swarm), and Web Business Exchanges (WebBizInsider).

Ok, so after you sign-up for the 5 exchanges, make sure your own web site URL is registered for each exchange.

Now here is the secret to using them.

Now, open each exchange up in a separate browser window so that all 5 are active and your are surfing them, one tab next to another.

They are all based upon timers to earn credits. Click on the 1st one, immediately go to the second one, then the third, etc. By the time you have clicked on the 5th exchange, the timer on the 1st one will have finished and will be ready to click on again Do this for around 1/2 an hour a day and the visits to your site will absolutely skyrocket!

See now you have quadrupuled your clicks with no additional $$ or time.

I do recommend that if you do this, you upgrade your browser to Firefox. It is much more secure and quicker then Internet Explorer. It will help you toggle between each browser much faster and is much less likely to crash then IE.

Did you know that by the push of a button you can drive dozens, if not hundreds of visitors to your website for free?

That is the power of Social Networking Sites. Social Networking Sites essentially are where you can post a profile and links to your blog or website.

I recommend My Blogcatalog for a first social networking site. Click on the link I just provided and register. Once registered, make sure you put a brief biography of yourself. Here is a little hint, don’t make it something like “My business is the best business and you would be a fool not to join it”. That is a HUGE turn-off to people and no one will listen to you. Put something relevant about yourself.

Once you are on there, look around and find people with similar interests to you and send them “friend/contact” request. If they accept, their profile will be linked to yours and you can begin to have conversations with them and establish a relationship. Remember these are Networking sites so the key is to network.

One of the most under used Web 2.0 tools out there is Twitter.

When I say under used, I mean that while lots of people are on Twitter, for the most part it is strictly a gab session, however, when used properly, Twitter can drive huge traffic to your blog or web site.

The key is that once you are on Twitter, and have established some credibility and/or relationships with the people that “Follow” you on Twitter, the time is perfect for you to use it to drive traffic.

When you post a new blog entry, go ahead and announce it on Twitter. One or two announcements a day, mixed in with other “twits” will drive people to your website or blog.

I would not start announcing updates to your blog until you have a relationship built with some of the people, otherwise they will think of you as a spammer and stop following you.

Anyone can create their own automated MLM prospecting system. Its easier than you think. Just think using a system to follow-up with people who are already interested in what you have to say, instead of asking people to look at your MLM business. There are three basic steps you will need to follow in order to create your own MLM prospecting system.

The first step in setting up your own MLM prospecting system is creating something called a landing page or a splash page. A landing page is basically just a regular web page, but with your marketing message on it. However, you need to make this a little unique because with this system, you only have about 10 seconds to grab someone’s attention. You need some sort of attention grabbing headline. Something like “Lose weight the easy way” or “Make Big Money from Home”. You want to grab their attention enough to get them to input their e-mail address into your splash page.

I recommend Using Site Built-It for to create your landing page.

The second part of your landing page or splash page must have a place for where the person visiting can put their information in. The less you ask for the better. I recommend only asking for a first name and e-mail address. Once they input this information, they will automatically have their information put into your e-mail auto-responder. The key here is to get their information!

The second step in setting up your own MLM prospecting system is having an auto responder. An auto responder is an e-mail system which will automatically send out e-mails to those who have gone to your landing page and input their information. In this way, you can get your marketing message out to your MLM prospect without you manually intervening. The key here is to first establish a relationship with those people, not to try and sell them something right off the bat. Once you have a relationship established with them, then you can begin to try and gradually bring them in on your MLM opportunity. Make a relationship first though!

I recommend using Aweber for your auto-responder service.  It is simply the best.

The third step in setting up your own MLM prospecting system is to market your landing page. You are going to want to get the URL link to your web page out on the web as much as possible so that as many people as possible can see it and potentially go to your site. There are many tools and techniques to do this: traffic exchanges, ezine solo ads, banner advertisements, etc. Be creative and think of your own ways to do this! Look for other posts on this blog to see recommendations on how to do this.
