Tracking your traffic, sources for traffic and more specifically, your sources for leads and sales is very powerful. You will be able to identify what traffic generation techniques work well for you, those that don’t, and even more importantly, those that make you money.
Personally, I use two tools for tracking, Google Analytics and Adtrackz. Each has its advantages and disadvantages.
Personally I like using Google Analytics for tracking my Google Adwords Campaigns, and it actually integrates perfectly in with all of the stats available for Google Adwords. Plus, it is a free service.
I use Adtrackz for tracking all of my other lead sources and direct advertising, whether on social networking sites or Ezine Solo Ads, etc. It is not free, but it does have the ability to do split testing of your landing pages, important for improving conversion.
