Algebra, Geometery, Calculus, Statistics, yuck……

I never ever could figure out WHEN I would EVER USE math in the “Real World” ya know?  Like when would I ever use f(x) = z + y + 5 = 10……EVER.

If you hate math, I am right there with you…..

However, I AM going to teach a neat little math number that will make you TONS of money in internet network marketing.

Did I say money?

In fact, I’m gonna show you a nifty way to “cheat” on your ML”M math. I KNOW you never cheated on a math test in school right

But, this kind of cheating is OK, and in fact encouraged!!!!!

Now that’s what I’m talking about!

In fact, those that understand this ONE little number…..have it in their brain all the time and even better, know how to “cheat” at it……….are the ones who build BIG……really, big MLM businesses…..

Lets go through step by step here:

OK, so lets get started here.  Lets say that your in an MLM company that gives you a “fast start” bonus of $100 every time you sign up a new distributor. Sound familiar to anyone?  OK, lets call this number “G” as in “good money”

Next…… Lets say that you are doing marketing online for your business, or even doing doing it offline (like most of you have done, including myself…yuck) handing out flyers. Or maybe you are doing pay per click advertising and spent $120 on advertising and generated 100 leads….

Lets call this number “B” as in a “bad money” number.

And, next, lets say that for every 100 leads, you get one person in your downline.

So you spent $120 and got one downline member…which earned you $100.  You see the “geek math”?

The $120, is commonly known in business circles as your “cost to acquire a customer”

So, when ‘bad money’ or “B” is bigger than ‘good money’ , “G”…..

This is an absolute recipe for disaster here!!!! You are losing $20 for every new person you get in your downline!!!!

Now, the good part….where you get to “Cheat” on your math test here……..;)

Now, lets say that you set-up an auto-responder series…..and “put” those 100 leads into your auto-responder, like Aweber, which I use.

Now, lets say you refer those in your auto-responder to things that they would find useful, like affiliate training products, or a “funded proposal” that I’ve talked about before, remember?

OK, so lets say that you referred people to a great product and 3 out of 100 of those went ahead and “bought” it, earning you a $20 comission per purchasing referral.  VERY realistic numbers here by the way.

So, you earned $60 in commissions!!!! Yeah, its like FREE money!  Kinda like cheating, right?

And you still got that 1 person per 100 leads to join your downline.

Now, lets go back to our numbers here.

So now, your ‘good money’ number ” G ” is now $160.

Now,  “good money” is bigger than “bad money” or you earned $160 for every $120 you spent.

This is really important here…..so you earned $40 for every 100 leads you generated…..and one downline member.

I guarantee you this…..successful business owners……KNOW their “cost to acquire a customer” and KNOW they make money for every customer who walks in their store…..or for every lead they get……and constantly strive to make more per customer.

I also guarantee this….those that DONT know this number….are more than likely losing $$ and don’t even know it.

Again, recipe for disaster!!!!

So, go ahead and figure your # out!

Its great to get out at times and think about business.  I find working at a different location often gives me a fresh perspective and outlook.  I highly recommend it to give you focus and clear the haze and make yourself more productive.

Anyway, I when I was at that coffee shop, I was thinking about how hard it was to create my first website.  Not that its hard mind you, but you just need to know how to do it.

I remember sweating away for hours working on something as simple as a landing page….but by far the most daunting task for me when I was starting out was creating a network marketing blog.

I had heard that a blog was an awesome way to get fr’ee traffic and leads for my business and was very interested in starting one.

I had always heard about network marketing blogs, but had stayed away from them because it seemed far too complicated to get going with one.

Post what?  Upload what?  Install what? You get the picture……

But I finally bit the bullet and went ahead and did a blog.

I’ll admit though, it was HARD at first to get it going.  I was absolutely intimidated by having to install WordPress on a website, no joke.  I had second thoughts about running an internet network marketing business.

Anyway, I ran across something that might be able to help you if you never made the plunge and got your own blog.

It’s so easy and allows you to install a blog in just a few clicks.  Holy Cow!  I WISH I had known about that when I was starting.  It would have saved me TONS of time learning stuff that quite frankly I have never used since.

You see having a blog of your own is one of the easiest ways to get fr’ee leads, in particular with a WordPress blog.  These particular kinds of blogs are like candy to search engines, which means it makes you  and your site much easier to find.

More Internet Traffic = More Leads = More Customers and Downlines

However, one common complaint I’ve heard is that its hard to figure out exactly HOW to get a wordpress blog.  In particular, it can be kind of tricky to install one, like it was for me with my first one.

I’ve found a pretty cool solution for you recently.  Its called BlueHost.com and there is a “One-Click-Blog Install” feature that goes along with it.

Essentially what it means is that if you go ahead and get a domain and hosting through them, they have a feature inside which will install the WordPress blog for you.

In fact, after getting off with a customer service rep earlier today, they will even pre-install it for you, complete with databases and everything.  Fully customizable if you choose.

Ok, it actually takes 3 clicks I think, but you get the point.  There is even a video tutorial on how to do those 3 clicks.  Pretty useful.

I can’t overstate this enough.  This is HUGE.  I know the first time that I installed a wordpress blog, it took HOURS and was very confusing.

I don’t want you to have to go through that, so this is a really good affordable way for you to get a blog up and running very quickly and for you to fr’ee traffic and leads for your business.

The phone call went something like this…after the initial introductions and such, and the guy….was pretty irate….at first.   Read the whole thing and you’ll understand

I’ll call the guy Bob, even though that’s not his name really.

“You know Kurt, thanks for the email and video about PPC, but I’m sick and tired of all you guys out there just not coming out there and telling us how to do PPC and generate leads with it?   You tell us the best way to get leads, but don’t tell us how to do it!”

At this point, I smiled, and politely responded, “Hey Bob, I’ve got a question for you….do you play sports?” I said.

He responded after taking a deep breath, “Yeah, played ‘em all my life. Played baseball mostly.  I was a big home run hitter in High School.”

“Ahhh very cool.  I love baseball myself, but was never much of a home run hitter.  So, let me ask you, how do you hit a home run?” I replied.

After a long pause he said, “What do you mean how do you hit a home run?  It just…well it just happens.”

“Really, it just happens?  So, if I were to new to baseball, and went out and pick-up a bat, I can just hit a home run? Just like that?” I asked.

He replied, “No, no, you’ve first gotta learn how to hold the bat, and then how to swing it with the right balance, learning how to keep your eye on the ball, hitting for contact first.”

“Ohh, I see, so thats how to do it.  So, since I’m not there, can you recommend a good clinic so that I can learn how to hit a home run?  I mean, they can teach me, right? I really want to learn as fast as I can.”   I asked again.

“Ohh yeah, I can recommend a good clinic, I know a couple of them, some good some bad, but I know some good ones.  They are really essential to get you going in the right direction.  But, here is the thing, they will teach you the basics, but, your going to need to get out there and practice practice practice what they taught you.  That’s how you get really good at hitting the ball and hitting it for home runs.” he exclaimed.

“So, Bob, you are telling me that  I should go to a clinic and learn the basics first, have them get me going in the right direction, and then I need to practice?  But, why can’t they just teach me how to hit a home run?’  I said.

“It just doesn’t work that way man, you’ve gotta practice to get good at it after getting some good instruction.” Bob replied.

“OK Bob, so you are saying I need to to do all that in order to learn how to hit a home run?”  I asked rhetorically.

“Yep”.

” So what makes you think I can send out one email to teach you how to generate leads with pay per click?”  I added with a smile on my face.

I next heard a big laugh from Bob and he said, “Hey man, I get it now….thats funny, OK, sorry to harass you, but I never thought about it that way Kurt.”

You see, generating leads with pay per click is just like baseball or golf, or anything for that matter. You need good instruction, but after you get that instruction, you gotta go out and practice practice practice until you get good at it.
