Recently the Federal Trade Commission came out with a ruling that could have huge implications with how network marketing companies promote their business to to their distributors and how you sell in network marketing as well.

Now, I’m not a lawyer, nor do I play one on TV, but the writing is on the wall for a very common practice among network marketing companies.

Remember how when you’re at a convention for your company when they parade across the stage all of the big income earners?

Especially those guys like “Johnny”,  who is now a six-figure earner, but was just a lowly busboy at the Village Inn two months ago?

Really, what the ruling is about, is about making extravagant testimonial claims, that the average user or business builder does not experience.

Here is where the rubber meets the road for you and your company. Starting in December all of those extravagant income claims that every  company makes will more than likely have to stop.

Now, network marketing companies have been using this tactic for decades to promote joining that particular opportunity

We all know deep inside that those big earners, are not “typical” distributors. The fact still remains, that’s over 95% of business builders, can’t even cover their monthly auto ship expenses.

So, if you can’t sell people on becoming a “six-figure earner in months”, how are you going to get people to join your business and build it with you?

Really, it all comes down to what you’ve been reading from me forever.

Sell people on what you have to offer and what system you have to help them build their business….

Listen, we all know that if it were really all about how wonderful your company was, or how wonderful the products are, everyone in that company would have stellar success, right? Is that what your trying to sell in network marketing?

When you think about it, it’s amazing how many self-proclaimed ”best compensation plans” there are out there. Doesn’t it seem that everyone in every business has the best right?

Again, the writing is on the wall that your own company is going to have to lay off on on the big income claims.

Just a little quick lesson here on how to effectively reduce your click and lead costs with Google to get dirt cheap network marketing leads.

One fairly common tactic when using Google Adwords is known as “Peel And Stick” .  What this means is that, while you might have a tightly focused group of keywords in any particular ad group, you can “peel” any given keyword that might have more potential and “stick” it in its own ad group.

The other day, I was checking on one particular adgroup I had been working on.  While at the time, I had believed when I grouped my keywords together pretty tightly, as it turns out, only one keyword in that particular ad group had a “good” quality score, while the others had a “poor” quality score.  Definitely not good when trying to generate network marketing leads!

OK, so what did I do?

- I paused all under performing keywords in that ad group and pulled out keywords and grouped them into a total of three adgroups.

- In the new adgroups, I precisely matched the ad I used, and included the keyword in the headline exactly.

- I raised the bid by 10% over the minimum bids that google was giving me.

So, what was the end results?  I had tons of keywords go from a “poor” quality score of 3, with a minimum bid of $1 per click, to a “good” quality score of $.05 per click.  I started getting impressions and clicks and leads from previously “dead keywords”

What is the lesson here?  Well, how powerful this technique of “peel and stick” can be, and the excellent results you can get if you spend the time to be granular enough with your ads and keyword grouping.  You can get dirt cheap network marketing leads from google, if you are just persistent enough and work at it.
