MLM Advertising and what the best way to advertise your MLM opportunity is a question that many many in Network Marketing have, not just those who conduct internet network marketing.

The best way, in my opinion is to use something known as Pay-Per-Click marketing, or more commonly known as PPC. The best way to generate leads for your MLM opportunity.

Why do I feel it is the best way?  Because you can get your advertising message, literally in front of millions of people within minutes of launching your campaign.

Here is the basic concept with PPC advertising.  You pick where your advertisement is going to show, based upon what “keyword” you want your advertisment to be placed with, and your ad only appears there.

Here is the really cool part though.  As opposed to traditional advertising, you only pay for that advertisement when someone clicks on your ad.  How cool is that?  So you only get someone who is interested in what you have to say, and they want more information about it.  You only pay for them.  Make sense?

Ok, so now where exactly can you actually do MLM advertising with PPC?

The biggest networks, by far where you can advertise on are:

Google

Yahoo

MSN

However, there are other places you can advertise on as well, including, for exam

Facebook.com

Also, there are tons of places where advertisements show up.  All across the internet, all three networks have something known as their Content Network where literally you can place advertisements on other peoples sites.

You can even buy advertising space directly from relevant web sites!

The best places to start out are advertising on either Google, or Yahoo.  Each has its own distinct advantages and disadvantages.  Google by far has more traffic, however Yahoo has much less restrictive on the kinds of websites that can advertise on them.

Just keep in mind that while they are Google, they always don’t know the BEST way to advertise on it.  Great intro information on there though;

Having an MLM Blog is very important in order to get content out to your Network Marketing audience.

Equally important is the ability brand yourself as an expert in MLM.

An additional advantage in having an MLM blog is that search engines love blogs, in particular wordpress blogs. When a search engines “crawls” a blog, it can list your MLM blog in the search engines, and this is a great way to get free traffic to your website.

Don’t worry about not knowing about what to post on your MLM blog, the big thing is just getting out there and post SOMETHING. Once you get into the habit of posting content to your blog, the topics will naturally flow.

One great way to think of content is to post stuff about what you are learning, and some of the services you have used and some reviews of it. Inform other people while you learn!

What exactly does list building have to do with Network Marketing…..EVERYTHING!

Remember the “Old School” way of recruiting in Network Marketing?  Make a list of 100 people you know….and talk to all of them?

Well, the “New School” way is to build your list of people to talk to via your opt-in web page and auto-responder. Your auto-responder is where your list resides, and your list is one of the top two assets you posses as a network marketer.  The bigger your list, the more people you have an opportunity to present your network marketing opportunity to.

Today, there is such a thing as “List Builders”, which are sites where you can join for free (or pay to join), where you have the opportunity to send thousands of e-mails every several days to members who belong to these services.

Do you know how powerful sending 3000 messages to new potential customers every 3 days is?  VERY.

Let me give you an example of the first one I joined.  I joined ViralURL as a paid member for $197, and I thought, wow, I just wasted $197 dollars. But I wanted to know what I would get out of my membership so I tracked my clicks and opt-ins.

Here are my results for my week of sending these mailings every 3 days….I got 15 new subscribers.  Now that might not seem like alot, but let me run the numbers for you here, and these numbers are if I don’t get any better at it:

15 opt-ins per week, 52 weeks in a year = 780 opt-ins for the year.

Ok, now lets cover the cost per opt-in:

780 opt-ins for $197 =  $0.25 per lead or opt-in.

Now, let me compare this with the $1.50 or $2.00 per lead I pay for on google adwords.  MUCH CHEAPER!!!

So, I believe this is a very cost effective way to generate leads for your business.  While not nearly as quick as Google Ad words, it is cheaper over the course of the year then Google.

Here is the key….you need to send your mailing out every 3 days!!!  Consistency is the key.

**Now keep in mind you can join for free on these, I am not recommending either way, free or join with some money.  If you join for free you can leverage your time, if you join at the paid level, you will take advantage of the huge cost and time effectiveness that I talked about above. You choose which is best for you.**

Here are the list builders have tried and like.  I have tried others…..but these I feel are the best:

Viral Url – Probably the most responsive one I have seen.  I got the highest opt-in % of any of these from here.  Very good for promoting your product.

List Bandit – Has a matrix which is re-built every night.  Could potentially e-mail 50,000 people if you end up near the top of the matrix.

Listdotcom – Mike Filsaime’s list – Has a HUGE list of Internet Marketers on it.  Has the biggest list out there.

ListJoe – I get the most clicks out of this one.  It works best if you are giving something away for free like the 7 Great Lies of Network Marketing, or your own stuff.

Having a network marketing blog and RSS is a very important topic. This week I wanted to get back to some basics about blogging, why you should blog, and how it can help you with your network marketing business.

First let me answer the question about what RSS is. RSS stands for “Really Simple Syndication”. It is a very easy way for web sites and blogs to continually update its audience on. It makes it as easy as possible for you to help your blog audience informed about updates on your blog.

RSS produces something referred to as a “feed” in which viewers and fans of your site can subscribe to. In this way, they can stay up to date with the latest updates and coming and goings on your blog.

You can create an RSS feed on your blog by going to www.feedburner.com. Simply go there, create an account, and they will give you a certain html code for your site. All you have to do is copy and paste that code to your website, and BINGO, INSTANT RSS feed on your blog!!!

What does an RSS feed on your blog do for you and your network marketing business? It makes it as easy as possible for your fans and prospective downline, and actual downline members to stay updated with your tips and hints on your network marketing blog.

Its an excellent tool to help train your downline. Post a message to your downline on your blog, and INSTANT TRAINING FOR YOUR DOWNLINE! Now anyone can subscribe to your RSS feed, but there is nothing wrong with that. Freely giving of information returns tenfold eventually in my book.

Now, there are better places to place your RSS feed on your blog to make it easier for your readers to physically subscribe. Look below for the red circle on what a good place is to have your RSS button.

Again, this is a great and easy way to let your blog audience keep in touch with you and your updates!

Ok tips for Google Pay per click III. OK, once you have your keyword tracker software up. If you are really eager to get started…..here are some quick steps.

Go to your keyword tool…type in some high priced keywords like MLM or network marketing. What you are looking for are combinations with a “Count” in the left-hand column of between 1500 or 1000. The lower the count or clicks that are reported, the fewer people who search those key words and the lower price you will pay per click in Google Adwords. That is the key to it all. Make the most of your dollars. When I started I would bid on high priced key words….get a few clicks…then blow my budget for the day. Don’t make the mistake of bidding on high cost/high traffic keywords.

I would start with a least a group of 50 or so tightly grouped keywords, plug them in to Google Adwords for a campaign and go from there. If you are serious about it, put some money into it, but set an overall limit for your campaign like $50-$100, so you know exactly how much you are going to spend.

That is a good place to start. You will need to measure your ROI and utilize Kaizen to keep improving on your keywords and campaigns……more on that in a later post. Remember to keep tweeking your advertising to improve it and get more value out of it.

Remember to have them go to a landing page where you can capture their information and they become a network marketing lead for you

OK, part II here. Now before you get started, let me warn you. Google Adwords isn’t for everyone. It’s easy to lose money with Adwords as it is to make it, if you don’t know what you are doing. Its also just as easy to make a killing with adwords, if you know or are willing to learn what to do.

You will need to set-up an ad for your website and bid on something called keywords. A keyword is a word that someone types into Google to search for more information on.

For example, if someone wanted to know more about “home business”, they would type that into Google.

If you are new to PPC, you will absolutely want to read Perry Marshals Definitive Guide to Pay Per Click. It’s the bible of the Google PPC community and will help you get lower costing, better yielding ads much quicker and without losing your shirt in the process! Perry is the BEST Adwords instructor…..Period. He has a free five day course to help people along as they begin to market on Google Pay Per Click.

With Perry’s Information in hand, go find a good keyword selector tool. Google itself has a decent keyword selector tool in the adwords area. Once you are logged in, click on the “Campaign Management Tab”, select Tools, and the go down the page until you find the link for Keyword Selector tool. Just type in the word you would like to find keywords for and Google will do the research and suggestions for you, all free.

You will also need a good keyword selector tool. I recommend Word Tracker KeyWord Tool as it is both easy to use and provides information on the number of ACTUAL searches that have occurred over a period of time. This is the tool I personally use.

Now that you have chosen a key word tool, you need to type your keyword, something like “home business” and see what the selector tool comes up with. There should be a list of a dozen or so suggested keywords to put in your campaign.

Tomorrow I will give a few hints on how to narrow down your keyword search and what amount of $$ you should be spending on your PPC campaign and get even more network marketing leads.
