Is This How You Think Of Your Network Marketing Business?

Last week, we celebrated St. Patricks day here in the old ‘hood.

No, I’m not Irish, but in fact very German, but the whole St. Patricks Day really got me thinking about how so
many believe in luck.

Particularly those of us in our network marketing business.

How many of us have thought “Wow, that guy walking across stage, he has that huge downline, what a luck
bast$%^ !”

Or, “Why are some people so lucky in this business?”

Far too many of us think there will be some little leprechaun who jumps up and points us to the pot of
gold at the end of the proverbial rainbow or biz.

I’m a firm believe in luck…..the kind that you create, and you should be too….

Success in your business does not come through luck, but a little grit, determination, focusing on what really
can grow your business, and plain, ole’ fashioned hard work.

Here are a couple questions to ask yourself.

How productive are you really being in your network marketing business?

Are you wasting your time asking your neighbor over for coffee to harass them for the 5th time about this “Can’t miss opportunity” you think they should join?

Even though they told you they aren’t interested the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th time?

Or, are you out there, putting yourself in front of people who actually WANT to earn some extra money from a
home business, maybe even yours?

Or perhaps using your website to generate targeted product leads, people who are looking for something
that helps them get rid of their joint pain, something that your product can help them with (or whatever main
benefit your product has).

Are you endlessly yapping on to your “list of 100″ about how everyone just NEEDS your product?

Or are you really out there trying to relate to your customer, and find out what THEY want first……

Are you sitting there reading about your comp plan for the 10th time, just to make sure you get all the details
just right….

Or are you out there trying to generate some leads for and really grow your business?

Ever heard of the old addage:

“The Harder I Work, The Luckier I Get?”

Well, it particularly holds true when you are running a network marketing business.

So go out there, get going on some productive work and stop waiting for a little leprechaun (or Upline, or GooRoo, or system or whatever) and start creating your own luck.

Websites like EzineArticles.com, YouTube.com, and a couple others are great examples of authority sites.

But, Better Networker is quickly becoming one as well.  The example I just saw was that one of my own pieces of content, about free network marketing leads, on there gained a page 1 spot on google just for posting it on that site, even ahead of other authority sites out there.

So now what does this mean to you as a home business owner?

Go take your best content and post it on Better Networker.  Not only will you get exposure to an extremely targeted audience of home business owners, and more eyeballs will see your content there, but now, you will get even more exposure in the search engines as well.

The best of both worlds!

One thing to know however, with authority sites like BetterNetworker, is that even though you get an instant boost in search engine rankings from them, you still need to work at it and generate links to that site in order to keep on page #1 for that term.

So go out there and start creating that content and get more exposure for your business!

We Are All An Underdog In Our Network Marketing Business At One Time Or Another

Did you see THE game yesterday?

OK, if you don’t live in the U.S. it might not be THE game, but yep, the New Orleans Saints won the Super Bowl yesterday.

Big time.

Well, since my team wasn’t in the game, I usually root for the underdog, and in this case the Saints.

In particular, I love real underdog stories on a personal level.

Like with the Saints quarterback, Drew Brees.

Did you know the guy was written off as washed up?

Absolutely.

He used to be the quarterback for another team, the San Diego Chargers, but hurt his shoulder so they went out and drafted a new guy to replace him.

No other team wanted him, since they were worried about his shoulder, and that it wouldn’t hold out.

Some told him to hang it up, and even chuckled at him for keeping trying.

Really, the only one who believed in him……..was himself.

Tough position to be in.

But, he kept believing in himself and trying to find a home.

No one was just going to go out and give him another shot at his dream.

Only by force of will on his own part was he given a “shot” with another down-and-out franchise, the Saints.

Well, if you saw the game yesterday, I think you know the outcome of that one…

Kind of like you when you start out your own network marketing business, right?

I mean, NO ONE believes you can do this kind of thing, and some will even scoff at you for trying.

It can be hard to stomach, but, just like Drew, you’ve gotta have an inner belief in what you are doing, and know that this IS what you want to do.

Just as important to know is that no one is going to go hand you success on a silver platter, you’ve got to be
willing to go out there and get the success that you want.

Keep plugging away at it, learn what you can, and constantly try to improve yourself.

There will be setbacks, no doubt, but true success comes when you do a little gut-check and keep moving towards whatever your goal is.

Don’t you think it worked out for Drew Brees and the Saints?

Don’t let anyone stop you from getting what you want deep down.

Does Your Network Marketing Business Bore You?

Let’s face it, there are times when we AVOID building our network marketing business.

I know it sounds strange and funny, but it happens.

Sometimes, it just gets boring hitting your head against the wall (or against the kitchen table, or your computer
screen) trying to figure out “how to make it work”.

We get in a rut and get tired of it all.

All we need at times is to change up your routine and get a little inspiration.

Here are a couple things you easily do to help get that spark back in your network marketing business.

- Do some professional reading to perhaps spark an idea or two in your business.

- Go network with other successful people in your company. Often times, the best source of “how to” build a great business isn’t straight from your upline, but from others who have done what you want to in your business.

- Go network with other successful people NOT in your company. Sometimes companies can get kind of, well, for
lack of a better phrase “in-bred” in terms of “this is the way you gotta build your business”.

(Can you hear the tune of the movie “Deliverance” in the background? )

Especially larger, more established companies. Go find someone who has built a large network marketing business in
another company…go buy him/her a cup of coffee and pick their brain.

If there isn’t someone in your area, give someone a call and say, “Hey I like what you did in your business, can I pick
your brain?” Offer them something easy in return, like a written testimonial to help them grow THEIR business.

- Head over to Meetup.com and attend a meeting about a topic you want to learn about. Here is a secret of mine, I
LOVE to go to meetup.com meetings (and no, its not a dating site). I’ve gone to quite a few internet marketing
meetings and learned a ton about how both real brick and mortar businesses and full up internet business grow their
business online.

For me, one example here was that I learned a TON about PPC marketing from a dude who sells…..strangely
enough Ebooks on how to install solar panels.

“Should I Build Multiple Network Marketing Business Opportunities At The Same Time?”  This is a VERY common question among MLMers today.  I’ve seen time and time again this very same discussion in forums, and have talked this very same subject over and over with peers in the industry.  Its a very important question that needs to be discussed.

Here is a quick video I did on this same topic of multiple Network Marketing Business Opportunities:

To get to the point quickly, I truly believe that you should NOT promote multiple Network Marketing Business Opportunities at the same time.  I’ll be honest here, I’ve thought about it and personally tried it in the past.  It doesn’t work for several reasons, and did not work for me. I’ll discuss here why.

First, lets take this topic from strictly a business perspective first.  Lets say that you decided you wanted to work on two or three MLM companies at once.  One train of thoughts would lead you to think that, yeah this will work!  I’ll get multiple sources of income going at once, I’ll get more money flowing in right?  It sort of makes sense, from a certain point of view.

However, you will absolutely start running into trouble promoting multiple network marketing business opportunities at once. Lets say your focus is on promoting the business opportunity portion of your business.  Let me frame this argument by making this statement.  One of THE single biggest problems in Network Marketing that people have a lack of focus when it comes to their business.

You dilute your efforts when you promote more than one main business. You won’t end up being successful at either by diluting your efforts.  Each business is distinct and requires a unique approach in order to build it to the level of income you want.

Secondly, lets say that someone who likes what you have to offer calls you and says that they are interested in joining you in your MLM business.  What would you say to them?  Here is the menu for them to choose from?  Come on!  Its not about adding selection to people.  People want to join YOU, not your businesses.  Ultimately when it comes down to it, people want what you can do for them from a business partner standpoint.

When you point them to multiple businesses, it becomes unclear to them what you are offering.  You come accros as someone who is still trying to “figure things out” and haven’t achieved success yet in either business.  See what I mean?

Another very important point in promoting your business is the thought of exactly who you are to other people.  Differentiation is critical in marketing and a Network Marketing Business Opportunities and by clearly defining how people view you makes you more attractive to people.

Clarity and distinction are what attract people, not a menu of choices for a MLM business.  This is a point I can’t over emphasize here.

This concept is very different than the idea of having multiple streams of income.  When you utilize that powerful concept, you promote things of value to people that they actually need and use.  These are things like business MLM tools, and multilevel marketing training courses, definitely not several opportunities.

By offering a clear choice to people, and offering defined benefits of someone joining you in your MLM opportunity, you make yourself distinct, and people either will or won’t join you.

Which is exactly what you want.  You can always improve on how many people respond to you, but at least you have some data to improve upon.

Other people will come along the way and be offered the same choice and might choose to work with you.  At least you gave them a choice, not a menu.  This is a fundamental principle of direct response marketing.

One final point of warning when promoting multiple Network Marketing Business Opportunities is that many of them have rules against being in and promoting multiple companies at once.  You can risk loosing your distributorship with them and be left without any business to promote.
