Think about it this way, someone is so interested in a topic that they have decided to go onto a forum to learn more about it. Not only that, but by placing an attractive signature file, they've read your "stuff" and clicked on your link. Now, your not going to get a ton of leads on forums, but the key is consistancy, and doing 3-5 posts each forum a day.
