Spouse Doubting Internet Network Marketing
Just the other day I was talking to a guy on skype who was complaining about how he was having trouble getting his spouse to support him in working his new business opportunity, particularly so as he was trying to build it using internet network marketing.
Completely reminded me of the time when I was just getting started building my own business, and trying to do so online.
Now, especially in the beginning, lets be honest here, progress can be hard, slow, and frustrating.
Even my own lovely wife would often ask me, “What ARE you doing with all the time you are spending on that “network marketing business” of yours?”
It was hard for her to support me, even a little as I hadn’t shown her any tangible progress, even when I started making a little money in the beginning.
But how you can change that?
Well, I’ll admit I was a little sneaky.
Since I had a couple different sources of income, to include my primary opportunity, I usually was getting paid electronically straight to my bank, or via things like PayPal.
I changed ALL of the payments to a hard check I would receive in the mail.
Yep, snail mail.
WOW, what a difference this made for her!
There is no more powerful re-enforcement of what you are doing than seeing a check in the mail and then in your hand.
Even, though my income hadn’t changed at all, once she got her eyes on 2 or 3 or 4 checks coming in each and every month, she was sold!
She could SEE that I was making progress with my business.
Rather than me just telling her, “Hey I made $100 today”, she was able to see the checks coming in the mail and actually hold them in her hand.
Of course I made a point that she started opening up the mail more-so than me 
That is one of the beauties of building your business with internet network marketing as this makes it easy to come up with multiple streams of income.
Building just a ML’M business takes time but by incorporating multiple streams of income into your business, you can start to get more checks quicker than ever before….all while still building your business.

I see that my lovely wife, Darcy has already commented on this post. I am lucky that we do this business together. I love the story about the checks through the mail. I can see how that would motivate a spouse!

Hey dude, great idea. I also tell people to get their spouse to support them instead of the idea. So many people try to sell their spouse on network marketing, but if the spouse doesn’t get it, then it’s like trying to enroll a prospect that is broke…it just won’t work. If they ask for support for them, rather than the business, that will go a long way for quelling the waves. I’ve talked to lots of people that hide it…and that’s just not healthy. Be upfront and honest, and if you have to…just tell them it’s your hobby.
