The Next Big Thing In Network Marketing….

by Kurt Henninger on

I was reading an email the other day that really got me thinking about the certain psychology of many of us in network marketing and internet network marketing how it is so destructive to actually building a long term business.

You see, when someone starts a brick and mortar business, they generally have a clear  vision of what they want to accomplish, not just to make money, or “give it a try” so to speak.

While many businesses fail over the short term, they don’t jump from business to business month after month thinking that “this one will be the one” or that they will have better luck with “another company”, like we do in network marketing.

It is a far too common occurrance for many of us in this field to think that success is external from us…to think that they just “need to get with a great company”, or sign-up under a successful sponsor…and THEN they will finally achieve success.

You see, true success comes from within, and our own determination and will not fail that will grow your business, not some fancy new company, or the next big thing in network marketing.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen people jump from opportunity to opportunity because they thought it was “hot” and “ground floor” and completely abandon all the work that they had done with their previous company.

There are quite a few associates of mine who have actively tried to recruit me into no less than three separate opportunities in the last year or so, simply because they had moved onto another one and thought that this one was “it”.

Even if you learn how to generate leads for yourself with internet network marketing, you’ll find that is really only one piece of the puzzle, not the complete picture.  Although, I’d argue that it is much more leveraged and you can go out and touch many many more people using the tools of this particular sub industry than others.

So really, what I am saying here is to go ahead and invest in yourself and give one single opportunity a legitimate try for at least a year and see how it goes for you.  You’ll find that stick-to-itiveness counts for alot in this industry as well.

It takes a mind-set of realizing that all kinds of business takes a certain amount of time.

Absolutely Lynda,

All businesses do take time, there really isn’t an easy button to push and things get better all of a sudden.

Kurt, wouldn’t it be NICE if there WAS an easy button to push, just like in the commercials?! But you’re right, there is not one, and anything worth achieving takes time!

Right on Kurt, but it’s not just the network marketing company they give the year to, it’s also the task of learning to generate leads online as you teach on your site. There would definitely be a lot more success in our industry if everyone had more patience with building a business instead of just hoping for magic to happen.

Great article here. It is such a common occurance to see people jump from one company to another thinking the next company or opportunity will be the one that changes everything! You are right, success does come from within – great point there!

I also think your line about investing in yourself is HUGE! The best investment you can make is in yourself and developing new skills that will be will you and marketable for the rest of your life! I can tell you from personal experience that it is absolutely the thing that will make it or break it for most people – investing in themselves, learning new information that makes them better, and APPLYING IT!

Great work,

Karl
