At first glance, you might ask, “What does continuous self-improvment and network marketing have to do with each other?”

The difference is between finally making money and losing money in your business, that is what they have to do with each other.

Many in Network Marketing, especially when they start off advertising think they need to get things just perfect before they even post an ad or link or something like that. COMPLETELY un-necessary !

There is a process known as Kaizen, which means continuous self-improvement. According to Wikipedia, Kaizen ” (Japanese for “improvement”) is a Japanese philosophy that focuses on continuous improvement throughout all aspects of life. When applied to the workplace, Kaizen activities continually improve all functions of a business, from manufacturing to management and from the CEO to the assembly line workers.[1] By improving standardized activities and processes, Kaizen aims to eliminate waste”

(Yes, before I was a network marketer I worked for a Fortune 500 firm which used Kaizen principles to continuously improve. I actually received certifications for Organizational Improvement)

What is waste in adevertising? Those that view your ad and either don’t opt-into your list, or don’t buy from you are “waste”. They are something you didn’t capitalize on.

Here is my example. Lets say you place an ad on Google Adwords, and you are just starting out. After running the ad for a day or two, you get a click-thru-rate of .1%. Its a starting point at least.

However, if you run two variations of the ad (also more commonly known as split testing) one will out-perform the other. After a certain point, discard the poorer performing one. BIGNO!!! Instant Improvement. Eventually, you will get your click-thru rate up and eliminate that “waste” I was talking about earlier.

When you continually test your ads and measure their success you are going thru “Continuous Self-Improvement” or Kaizen.

Make sense?

My point here is that in order to be successful, the most important thing it TO START SOMEWHERE. Start running an ad, get it over with, measure your success or failure and get it over with.

However, you must measure how successful your ad was, and constantly strive to improve it.

More on how to do that in later posts.

THIS is how corporate america improves their processes. They continually look for better was to advertise or improve a process. They measure it, and try something new and measure it again. If they don’t improve, the go out of business. Same thing in Network Marketing.
