Focus in Internet Marketing
Focus is a big problem in Internet Network Marketing. There is SO much to learn, and we are in a society of instant gratification. We want everything, and we want it now unfortunately. Let me tell you, focus is one thing that will make you successful. Let me give you an example.
Remember the film, “Karate Kid” with Mr. Miyagi. Remember when he said, “Secret to punch, make power of whole body fit inside one inch, here…”? He was talking to his student about focusing his punch to one area to make it effective.
The same principal holds true in Internet Network Marketing. If you lose focus and don’t concentrate on what you are doing, your “punch” (in Mr. Miyagi’s words) wont be as effective.
All too often we try to figure everything out at once, implement everything at once, and we get no where fast. No leads, no cash, no downline. I’ve been there. I’ve tried to implement 20 different methods of directing traffic, etc. and it simply doesn’t work.
What you need to do is focus on one thing at a time and get better at it. I prefer to focus on things sequentially and in this order.
- Focus on one method to drive traffic at a time
- Then focus on converting that traffic to leads
- Then focus on converting those leads to sales
- Then focus on converting those leads and sales to your downline……
Get it? Focus on one thing at a time until you achieve a reasonable degree of success and then move onto the next. It is the only way you will be successful in Internet Network Marketing.

Hey Kurt,
So true!
There are so many distractions to deal with online and it takes real discipline to master your strategy.
Then again, rather that than a Jack of all trades and master of none.
I have found that setting proper goals of what I want to accomplish from a new technique or strategy before I start doing it really helps me stay focused.
And if all else fails:
“Wax on – Wax off!”:)

This kind of goes along with the lines of “begin with the end in mind”. Like mr. miyagi’s punch, we have to focus our efforts on an end goal, like providing an effective punch. If we stray away from that end goal, we will not be successful. Many things go into a punch, such as good balance, fist position, aim, etc. If we, for example, don’t have good balance while punching, we may miss our target alltogether.
I think you are right in that this doesn’t apply just to internet marketing, but to business in general.
Well Said Post . . .
Excellent post. To my total surprise I’m getting much better on focus and getting things done.

I am a solid and devoted marketer and I stay focused with my friends and hope we can help each other. Wax On Wax off is finding your friends and keeping your friends. Thats how I focus.
There is truly a lot of opportunity out there and it can be very confusing. The hardest part is creating a good group of friends and where to find them.
Your so correct when you say stay focused ! I find comfort in your wing. Thank you Kurt.

I agree, if you don’t focus on one thing, you don’t do so good. Is better to do one thing, and than second, than if you are doing a few things at same time…
Yeah very well said, its a vast topic and better keep focussed and that what is most useful to you at the moments, the article is very well written.
I totally agree with you, focussing is very important and yet something very difficult to do as we want to do so many things at the same time. But focussing on one thing at a time is the right regimen for someone to be successful.

“As your aim, so will be your action”, not only in the Internet Marketing field, but in any field, concentrating on only one target at a time is very important, it is the best way to learn and make the best out of it. Thanks for the excellent and valuable tips.
