Why You Can’t Make Money In Network Marketing

I had a really interesting conversation the other day with one of my own downline members.
“I can’t get anyone to buy my stuff or join the business!”
Her complaint was one that you’ll hear VERY commonly in network marketing, especially with those new to the business.
After talking with her a bit, we were able to pinpoint her problem, which was really

Can't Make Money In Network Marketing?

I had a really interesting conversation the other day with one of my own downline members the other day  ”I can’t get anyone to buy my stuff or join the business!  I can’t make any money in network marketing!”   Her complaint was one that you’ll hear VERY commonly in network marketing, especially with those new to the business.

You see, she was building her business online, which is smart.  She was getting lots of traffic to her website, getting leads for her business.  So everything up to this point was working well for her.

Now is where she started getting into trouble.

Really, what it all comes down to is your focus when your trying to make money in network marketing.  Far too often, people think “How do I ‘get’ people to buy my product, juice or join me in my business?”

This is absolutely the wrong focus.  It isn’t about what YOU want, its about what your prospects or leads want and what problem they are trying to solve.

It has nothing to do with how great you think your product is, how awesome you think you compensation plan is, or how much hype your upline tries to bring to you and get you motivated.

There is no way to convince, trick or coerce people into buying your stuff or joining you in a business.  Sure there are some high pressure tactics that might work temporarily.  But in the end, your never going to make big or in the long term make money in network marketing.

The key is to focus on what makes your prospect tick, what THEY want, what problem are they trying to solve?  If your marketing your “joint pain” product.  Look for people online who are trying to get rid of join pain and offer your product as a solution to them.  Don’t run around and say “Buy my stuff, your gonna love it!” to people who don’t have that problem or don’t care.

All the targeted network marketing leads, fancy videos, or websites won’t do you a bit of good unless you take the focus off of you and instead focus on your potential customer and what they want.

I know its almost backwards thinking, but thats how it works and the absolute best way to make money in network marketing, or any business for that matter.

If your problem is that you just don’t know where to start, how to build your business, or just how to make any money, just fill out your name and email address in the form below to get some of the absolute best network marketing training around.

What you posted is so true. I have experienced both sides of the wrong approach. As a prospect, I can tell when a person is trying to recruit me or sale me something because the focus is always on them. As a network marketer, I need to be more focused on getting to know others and building real relationships. I do understand why this may be difficult, especially in the beginning. For me, it has been a challenge because my main reason for going into business is to make money. I am desperate to put myself into a different lifestyle that looks and feels nothing like my life today. When you are cramped in a 600 square foot apartment with 5 other people and live paycheck to paycheck, you just want to make things better, you are focused on closing the sale or recruiting more people into your downline. My personal experience lately is that the majority don’t want to develop a relationship or be friends with someone who has very little financially. How can I get past this snag in my business?

Lorina,

Great question there, and keep the faith that you will make things better for yourself. My best advice here is to get good….and I mean really good at one thing. THEN you have something to offer people for them to join you.

For me, I got really good at free traffic from search engines, and generating multiple streams of income from that…for you it could be anything, but set your mind to it and get good at that one thing first.
