As you see in the videos, things do change.  No matter where your “cheese” was in how you recruited new business partners or new product customers in Network Marketing……the “cheese” has moved.

While “Old School” methods of recruiting new customers and reps do work, they are becoming far less efficient than they even used to be.

Think about it…..20 years ago, there was no Internet, no distractions like Facebook, MySpace, YouTube, cell phones, online discussion forums, or any other ways to communicate.

The way in which many of us communicate and relate to others HAS changed in many ways.

I’ve heard this many times from “Old School” network marketers…..”there is nothing personal about the Internet, you can’t build relationships, you can’t connect with people on the Internet”, etc…..all of which are false.

You are simply going where the “cheese” is, and in the case off a home business….where your customers are.  You can still connect, build relationships, and get to know people on a personal level.

In fact, you can do it far more efficiently than before.  You are able to give your “presentation” to 10,20,100 people a day instead of 1 or 2 if you work at it.

Did you see how the two “little people” complained and kept trying to find their old cheese at first?  What does that make you think about NOT using, and refusing to use technology to build your business?

It used to work, it should still work, right???  Ever heard that before?

Many of you might be afraid to go look for the “new cheese” like HEM in the movie, right?

What is your “old cheese”?  In-home meetings?  Buying Leads?  The 3-foot rule of prospecting in malls?  While those might work a little still, there is definitely “new cheese” to be had out there.

I was exactly like that, a little scared, a little afraid, but anxious to find the “new cheese” even when I didn’t know where it was.

But I ventured out, got a few crumbs here and there…and then finally found the “new cheese” and I know you can to if you just venture out a little.

Instead of focusing on “Who moved the cheese?”, go be like HAW and go find the “new cheese”

Embrace technology and use it to go find new customers and business partners with internet network marketing.

The first and most important lesson to remember about marketing anything on-line (or off-line for that matter) is that you need to position yourself as a solution to peoples problems. Once you get that mindset ingrained into you, people will start coming to you for an answer to their solutions.

Let me tell you from my experience in the corporate world. I used to have all kinds of people trying to sell us stuff. Their “XYZ” widget was the best in the industry, or new and innovative product is will revolutionize the industry. To be honest, I didn’t care. I had my own problems to deal with as a manager and I wanted SOLUTIONS to those problems, not to be sold on something I didn’t want.

Let me give you more relevant example, and this might seem a little shocking to some of you, but think of it this way.

Here is my analogy. People that don’t know about your business at all don’t care that your products are the best,they really don’t. They don’t care that our stuff is the best in the world.

What THEY DO care about is that they have a problem. They are tired, they feel sick all the time, moody, they might get colds all the time. The don’t want to feel sleepy anymore in the afternoon. Their kids have bad asthma and cough all the time and the doctors have put them on medication.

What you want to do is position yourself as a solution to their problem, a solution to them being sick, a solution to them feeling tired all the time, etc. Position yourself and let them know what kinds of solutions you can provide. THEN they will get interested. Get it;

This is the essence of Networking, getting yourself out there so that people know what kind of solutions you provide. Remember, this is network marketing right???

Now what is a New School way to do this? It is social networking sites!!!!

Social Networking Sites essentially are where you can post a profile and links to your blog or website. Web 2.0 right? All the cool people know how to do it right? Its really easy, don’t worry.

I am going to recommend three tools and sites to you here, right now.

The first is Face Book . Face Book is like My Space, but for grown-ups. Click on the link I just provided and register. Once registered, make sure you put a brief biography of yourself. Here is a little hint, don’t make it something like “My business is the best business and you would be a fool not to join it”. That is a HUGE turn-off to people and no one will listen to you. Put something relevant about yourself.

Once you are on there, look around and find people with similar interests to you and send them “friend/contact” request. If they accept, their profile will be linked to yours and you can begin to have conversations with them and establish a relationship. Remember these are Networking sites so the key is to network.

Ohh yeah, feel free to add me as a friend when you register!!! ;)

My second tool is known as Twitter. You have heard of John Reese, right?? He HIGHLY recommends Twitter .

When I say under used, I mean that while lots of people are on Twitter, for the most part it is strictly a gab session, however, when used properly, Twitter can drive huge traffic to your blog or web site.

The key is that once you are on Twitter, and have established some credibility and/or relationships with the people that “Follow” you on Twitter, the time is perfect for you to use it to drive traffic.

When you post a new blog entry or website update, go ahead and announce it on Twitter. One or two announcements a day, mixed in with other “twits” will drive people to your website or blog.

My third and coolest tool is a web site called Yuwie. It is a social networking site like Facebook. Go join, they are both for free. Plus you can earn $$ while using Yuwie ;)

Go ahead and set-up a profile on those sites. Its FREE so don’t worry. You can also go back and change your profile if you want ;)

Regardless of the quality of the program you are involved in, regardless of how wonderful its commission plan is, regardless of the wonderful features of its products, and regardless of anything else that is being promised, it is still possible to fail in this business. When I talk success, I don’t refer to a small part-time income, but making this a full-time profession and creating true wealth. If you have not have certain established fundamentals you will not have truly succeed in network marketing.

#1) First is believe in your company or product. If you do not believe what you are marketing and the company you are associated with isn’t the best people will see that and it will flow thru to your marketing efforts. Don’t bother, it won’t work if you don’t believe and it will flow to your downline.

#2) You must provide support to your downline. Believe it or not, this is where many network marketers fail…. Network marketing success can be very difficult at times with a 98% drop-out rate of marketers. Many times this is due to lack of support from the person who sponsored them. One cannot simple let people “run with the ball” when they start out. It is essential to provide tools and training to your dowline for them to succeed in network marketing.

#3) Have a duplicatable system. You should be able to provide some sort of system that people can easily emulate or duplicate. Ify ou get early wins on your personal effort and energy, you will find that this is almost impossible to duplicate with someone who you sign-up. Fortunately, the internet has provided an excellent opportunity to provide people with a duplicable system that allows people to succeed innetwork marketing.
